You know... those surprisingly sweet, funny, inquisitive, introspective or otherwise remarkable things your kids say about 87 times a day that make you think, "I have to write that down!"
Well, I'm going to start writing mine down!
The Scene: this morning's wake-up snuggles on the couch
Sam (age 23/4): Where are we going today?
Mumma: Today is a "Lindi Day". (We are so incredibly fortunate - Lindi has been our amazingly wonderful day-care provider since Sam was 3 months old.)
Sam: Mumma? After Lindi's, and night-night, where are we going?
Mumma: You mean Tomorrow? It's going to be another Lindi Day.
Sam: And then after that, and night-night, where are we going?
Mumma: One more Lindi day. Then after the next night-night, it will be Saturday, and we can stay home together all day!
Sam: (in precious, high-pitched, anticipatory toddler voice) And where are we going to go??
Mumma: Where do you want to go?
Sam: I want to go to the library and take back all my books and get some nother books.
I started taking Sam to the library this summer. We've been twice. I have been a bit concnerned that he wouldn't understand why we had to take all these wonderful books back, especially the ones he's grown particularly attached to. The last time we went, I did give him about a week's warning that we'd have to take the books back, but that we could get some new ones. I am just amazed at his propencity to understand some pretty big concepts! And of course this Mumma's heart was just so full when that little one came up with the idea all on his own that it was due time for another trip to the library!
What's brought you joy today? Do you have some verbal treasures to share from your little ones?
Wishing you much JOY on your journey.
